NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO......THERE YOU ARE

I don't really know where that saying came from
but my DAD used to always say it.

Where have your summer JOURNEYS taken you

over bridges
(Mr. Gorgeous and Lucy)

exploring  fields

(two grandaughters, Loo-Dog, Grace, lace and Dodger)

Racing...for fun or survival?

(2 more grandaughters, K-Doll and Kyleen)

walking new paths with your besties
(one of my besties...my sister)

hiking...reaching for the top
(my kids and grand kids)

perfecting a skill

 (grandson #12, Tyler)

OR

pondering where you are...and why
(Matt's family)

seeing where you started
(me and my sister in the back)

and how far you've come

(me, plus the increased butt size)

So, where have your journey's led you
in what ways did the events of THIS summer affect you

“The moon and sun are travelers through eternity. Even the years wander on. Whether drifting through life on a boat or climbing toward old age leading a horse, each day is a journey, and the journey itself is home.”

― Bashō

Let's hope as we journey into Fall....and eventually Winter
that we become the Captain of that trip
Whether the journey is good or bad, fun or crappy
boring or overwhelming

we succeed ....because ultimately
THE ONLY JOURNEY IS THE ONE WITHIN
(Rilka)

P.s. I may be missing for a bit, as my mom is going in for surgery tomorrow to have a stomach tumor removed, and I will be spending a lot of time in the hospital with her.
God Bless you mommy

Loved seeing your summer journed - full of goodness, family and beautiful places.
I feel that was kind of how my summer journey was too. I enjoyed my home, my family and the state that I live in - no long trips but being happy in my space.

Hope all goes well with your mom's surgery!

Praying that your mom's surgery goes well and the healing process is quickened. Also, praying that the Lord will send some interesting and vital people cross your path to keep you company during your wait in the hospital.

Oh bless your Mommy! I'm going to see mine in a couple of days to cap off this summer and before the snow flies.
You really did make the most out of your short summer. Do you have some fun goals or plans for the hibernation? :)

OH WENDY! GIVE YOUR MOMMY A HUG PLEASE!!!! And you look fabulous on that HORSE, in BOTH PICTURES as a little cowgirl and a grown, gorgeous woman!!!!!

AH YES....the JOURNEY. I always say what your dad says, but I add, that no matter where you go, YOU ARE THERE and you take yourself everywhere. You can't run away from YOU. SO....better make your attitude a good one because you have to live with yourself. Sometimes a job, a relationship or so makes us want to run away...but the problem is we take ourselves with us when we flee!!!! BUT INDEED, your message here coincides with what I am thinking because when we choose to make the crossing over that bridge or the horseback ride unforgettable, we are controlling all we can......our choices from within....

THANK YOU MY DEAREST WENDY for coming and supporting me in my new little adventure to find that little girl within and do something with my scribbles...it will be an interesting journey, for sure.

HUGS TO YOU AND MOMMA!!! Anita

Awwwww summer, yes, so many adventures. Hey how come Plantagenet wasn't in there?? Maybe that was the "end" of summer, lol.
Great pics of your sweet family Wendy. They always make me smile. I know you adore them to the moon and back again.

Love the title of your post. I can't say I've liked our journey these past six months, but I like where we've ended up. Hope all goes well with your mom. It's so hard to see our parents age. Hugs to you.

WENDY DARLIN'!!!!

Oh Wendy, how I would LOVE to meet you and the girls!!!! I pray that we never loose each other..that we can make another meeting happen and that we can see each other in the eyes. When I met Koralee, it was not enough time to learn all we needed and wanted to know about each other! Indeed, when the mountain is far away, we can see it better than when it is near. Blogging has helped me reach further to share, let people know how much they mean to me, and to discover new things about myself through others...what a wonder that it.

BIG HUGS TO YOU DEAREST WENDY! Anita
