50 SHADES OF..... 2013

Ha Ha
I thought the title might grab your attention
because , seriously....I got Nothing

Just not that much to blog about lately

So I'll try and shade in some thoughts

It's a new year
in case you didn't know
As I get older I find that a New Year
isn't really a New Year....but a new number
2011, 2012, 2013
a new way of "charting things"

but....A NEW YEAR
might be something entirely different
focusing on more of a New You
in THAT year
(deep eh)

I have spent 61 New Years
the Date's have had little meaning as to the
way I have grown
spiritually and mentally and emotionally
they blend into one year from another sometimes

So, therefore
there are many Shades...30, 40, 50...or 61 in my case
of how a new year has affected you
polishing your experiences
sharpening your opinions

Time flies, that I KNOW
so trite, but so true

(pinterest)

Those wings are flapping faster then I'd like sometimes
SLOW DOWN

the older you get, the quicker things change
for good...for bad...for better...for worse
(hmmm, was that a marriage vow?)

The tricky part
is that
it's EASY PEASY to deal with the good,
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY
(yes I love Duck Dynasty)

and well, Better is just Better !!!

for Bad
harder...does it make you angry, bitter, what??

for Worse
now there's a doozy
worse, is well....just worse

Worse is where we get tested right to the core of who we are
WHO WE ARE
not so sure I have liked what I have found out about myself
I have been reading some of my journals over the years
and I have found a "pattern"
a pattern I want to change......somehow

Since Time Flies
I better get on it so I can see some accomplishments
in this place I want to be
Where I thought I'd be by now
WHO I thought I'd be by now
my dreams
my visions
my hopes

(pinterest)

they don't always change over the years
just need a little altering
as reality hits you right in the schnoz

THIS year I suspect will be full of many
experiences for growth for me
(hopefully not in the waist line)
My parents are getting older and much more fragile
I am still in the process of  "building" my life here
children with dreams and aspirations of their own
grandchildren finding their way
moves
health
accidents

I don't know
NEW YEARS have surprises for all of us
I want to try and stay on top of it all
Like the country song
"I'm gettin' a little stronger all the time"
that's what I need to do

so
HAPPY NEW YEAR
for each and every one of you
a New YOU..in this new year
this calendar year
just a number
but WHAT does it hold for You

I'm gonna go for it
before I run out of numbers

Hey Wendy...Happy New Year to you too!
I think it is good to take stock of your life once in awhile and why not the beginning a new year. I would like to make some changes too but I am just not sure how to go about them....yet! I will figure it out though....yes, yes I will. Sincerely, Cathy

I've decided that one can learn a lot from Duck Dynasty. They always seem to live in the moment, forgive and move on, respect their elders and end each day with a prayer.

I find that the time does go by faster the older I get too, and that I want to make the most of it.

Happy New Year!

You have amazing insightful posts even when you think there is nothing to say :)! Happy New Year! I hope 2013 is a wonderful one for you and perhaps the year our paths will cross when you are here for a visit!

You really got my attention with your title. btw - did you read the series? Hate to admit it...but yes I did! :)

I think we all need to live in the moment. You can waste a lot of precious time worrying about the past, present and future. We all need to learn to go with it. (I really need to practice what I preach).

Love the picture of you. Let's both make this our new resolution.."Live in the now."

You are a deep thinker...that was such a truth, and along the way you sprinkle in some sparkle and wit...you are an amazing gal. I think I am going along improving and then something happens and I find I am right back there, 5 steps forward, 3 back! But that is life I guess, the trick is to just keep gaining ground I suppose. Love you beautiful lady. :)

Your New Year's photo is darling! You are rocking 61, girl!

I wish you a happy, healthy, and hopeful 2013. Best wishes to you and your family.

Happy New Year to you dear Wendy. You always write with so much meaning. I truly love your outlook on things. Honestly, you are a deep thinker and that is a good thing most of the time. Sometimes one can over think a bit, especially when things are troubling you. You are blessed with a spirit of great fun, great love, and great moments. I love you just the way you are. When the bad moments come think yourself right out of them and quickly.

Claudie has something when she says "sing". Music makes you happy. It makes me happy too. My dad was a happy man and he sang constantly, making up his own words. I think he had a handle on keeping himself happy. I am a lot like him I think...except I don't sing I listen to music. HA!

Wishing you and yours a happy and healthy 2013.
Love and hugs,
Jeanne

You had me at 50 shades....(no I didn't read it, but I hear I'm missing out)

Ya, a New Year always freaks me out. I'm not ready to face another year. I feel like I'm already ready for a nursing home.

You are 50 shades of awesome my dear friend.
You lift and build and encourage...I just wanna be like you.

Thanks goodness there's at least one time of year to reflect on it all. I hope the New Year is wonderful you!

Your 50 shades I think your shades are more interesting than the book
and I haven't even read it, (Kool and in the know I'm not).
You said you don't have much to blog about but...I think this is one of my favorite posts of all blogs of all time. To me this is what blogging is about. I did a post that was titled,"I get to see my feelings" and that is how I truly feel after I do a post.
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from another one who has just had her 61st Christmas season. I think that there might be quite a number of us getting out the ledger to a little self-accounting.
Wherever your contemplation takes you, I hope it brings satisfaction and peace.

Boy, isn't that the truth! Time is flying by. I'm with you, I need to enjoy each moment a little more. Not sure how many moments I (or any of us)have left...Mimi

Wendy you sometimes say you got nothing but then you reel off something great like this. The way alot of us are feeling.

It really does just become a number. The trick is to always be moving forward and doing better.

Happy New Year~! It's good to be back in the blogland!

Happy New Year my friend! You always write such insightful and well thought out posts. Your right about each year being just another number. Some years seem to blend and melt into one another and there are some years where they stand alone-usually those are the years loaded with lots of burden. Here is to a great 2013!

Very thought-provoking, Wendy! I always look forward to seeing what a new year has in store...hoping it will be mostly good!

You can't be 61! You look great.
I, too, have a few issues within myself I need to deal with. With the Lords help I can change. I sure hope getting older will start bringing a bit more wisdom into my life!

Hi Wendy, Thanks for your comment today. I just realized I spelled Bagel wrong on my header. Yikes.

I would so love to feed you bagels and lots of good food. If you could ever visit me here in the mountains it would be awesome. Bring Barry, I already think he is terrific and we have never met. This is a gorgeous part of the USA.

At least my computer is working today. Bill says we need a new router. Whatever that is!!!

I am a happy camper today. We bought a new recliner for me. We only had one and we both loved it. Now I have my own. It is a rocker recliner. Yay! When we are old it doesn't take much to thrill me. HA!

Stay warm and cozy. Love you bunches,
Jeanne xoxxo

Time Does Fly quicker the older you get.

I know I've been off the radar for ages but I'm not gone, just quiet. I love you and I love this and I feel like I'm only a few minutes behind 61 and it's freaking me out.

You should take a trip to Germany, I know a girl who has an awesome empty guest room and a bakery at the bottom of the hill.

MRS. GORGEOUS are YOU!

And Wendy, let's make it all AS GOOD AS WE CAN. The way I look at it, is in spite of my occasional melt-downs when I don't get things done the way I want them to go (I am an over-achiever!), life can be so GOOD when we do slow done that clock a bit by stopping to watch, observe, remember, create. IT IS GOING BY TOO FAST but thank GOD we have a soul, a life, the GIFT of opening up the doors of our mind and heart to see all that is there for us to discover. You are so kind to come to visit me! I hope your holidays were great my dear! HUGS MY SWEET FRIEND! Anita
