and So it Goes......

Every now and then
Just when you think things are calm and going well in your life
that sun warms your shoulders
and clean, crisp air is breathed into you lungs
that your heartbeats are at a peaceful rhythm

Suddenly
without any warning you find yourself having to walk into the mist
the fog
the darkness of the UNKNOWN

That was my weekend
Saturday night I received a call from my youngest child
that his wife was taken to the Emergency Ward
she was very ill with uncontrolled vomiting
nausea
and dizziness

(my son and his wife)

The hospital did an immediate MRI
and found this

an unexpected mass growth on her brain

I could not believe what I was hearing
tears flooded my eyes
suddenly that clam heartbeat
took an erratic beating
I felt chilled
and felt like I was trying to "suck in air"

Sunday they performed surgery
to remove this mass

She is now in recovery and the Dr. said the operation
went well !!!
They do not expect any cancer
and she should hopefully have a Full Recovery

I know, I KNOW
that it was due to the many, many heartfelt prayers
and well wishes
on our families behalf

I was humbled and amazed by all the caring people
who "walked with me"
on Sunday

Because soon, Becky will be doing this again

smiling her pretty little face off
back to pursuing her education
in the field of Pharmacy

she is actually an intern right now
in the very hospital she was operated in

Can we all get a Fist Pump Here.
whoooopeeeee

When you have come to the edge of all light that you know
and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown
Faith is knowing
one of two things will happen.
There will be something Solid to stand on
Or
You will be taught to fly
(unknown)

Our family is flying high right now.

My sister had the same thing. She went to the doctor for something else and someone picked up on her tumor. She had the surgery and is doing great (over five years ago). It is such a scary time for everyone. My heart felt your pain. I'm glad the outlook is positive. Hang in there. It sounds like blessings are coming your way.

I was meant to read this...I'm so glad that you DIL is doing fine & that the growth doesn't come back. She's a beautiful girl. My son went back to the ER a few days ago & undergoing some more tests, I know he'll be okay, but it hurts to see him go through so much pain. You're so right about things being calm & then all of a sudden you feel the ground starting to crumble.

Wowza! She is watched over, I am sure! Best wishes, friend.

What a scare for all of you. I'm so glad to hear that your daughter-in-law will recover and return to her studies, but I'm sure that everyone around her will be looking at life in a different way.
I'm going to go back and try to figure out how to follow your blog, as I am missing out on posts.

Good morning Wendy, Your post is an awesome story of light, despair and light once again. You write in a wonderful perspective that brings your readers in immediately. Well done and the best part is the good news of the surgery. I believe in prayer and Gods way of leading us through the hard times. This definitely was a test of your mental strength. I am still praying all will be well as it is expected.

Your son and his pretty wife are so darling. And smart!!! Smile. Thank goodness they have a bright future together.
Love you much,
Jeanne xoxoxo

WHAT AN ENCOURAGING QUOTE THERE, but more poignant is the love that abounds in the gathering of the kindred and strangers alike, to PRAY and HOPE for each other. Oh dearest, as I was reading your post, I could feel the emotion. I am so relieved that there is NO CANCER and that this young woman will pull through to fulfill her dream and carry on to encourage and love her patients...thank you sweet Wendy for coming to visit with me...you are so precious. PEACE! Anita
