Oh Blessed Summertime.
I wait and wait all winter long for the gifts of Summer, then Wham, it is gone. Faster then you can spit Watermelon Seeds.
This is the last writing, I will have of my summer activities.
I hope you will bear with me through these photos........cause YOU just think they are photos.
Not so my dear blogger friends
These are not mere photos, but Relationships, Love, Bonding, Roots.
My daughter and her 2 girls, came from Salt Lake City to visit me for about 10 days.
They got to stay in the New Cabin we just bought
A Cabin waiting to be filled with memories and mischief.
So say Howdy.
We only got this cabin about a week before they arrived, so it is in it's Virgin stages.
give me some time to spruce it up.
What do you do with two spunky grandaughters during a visit to the Country
Well..........you have wiener roasts of course.
(excuse me, grandma has to slip into a corner now and cry a little)
And, it would be interesting to know if your marshmallow roasts turn out like THIS
My sister and Loo-Dog (that's her nickname)
thought they'd get creative with theirs
Then you better go swimming at the creek to wash all that goo off.
This creek is historic
in my life
I have swam in it since I could walk, and hunted drift wood along it's shores to smoke
(another story)
There is a rope on the rock wall that the kids love to hang onto and jump into the water.
Or how about a nice lazy ride down the river.
Mom caught a Frog. Holy freaking city girl, I couldn't believe she grabbed onto that slimy thing.
But her response is, It's a Mothers Duty. guess I fell short on that duty, I ain't touching no frog.
forget snow angels, it's summertime
besides, young'uns don't seem to mind a little sand in the crotch
Forget the mega bucks you spend at the spa for mud treatments.
Here, it's free
besides young'uns don't seem to mind a little mud in their crotch
Can't come visit me without going to
THE GREAT CANADIAN BARN DANCE
Loo-Dog lives for this treat
She picks out her outfit months in advance
and was a little miffed with her mom for forgetting her cowgirl earrings.
Of course grandma has to join in and do a little two-stepping.
But I did it for my Grandaughter ---OK, get over it.
Welcome to the Naughty Pit. Any misbehaving and you could end up down there.
and there are spiders, and creepy crawlies
and pit monsters.
(seems pretty effective)
actually it was my grandma's old root cellar. I can't believe she'd go down there for her canned goods and spuds and homemade rootbeer.
Went for a Trail Ride.
Aren't those Rocky Mountains beautiful.
After it was all over, I turned around and there was Loo-Dog, doing her own dismount
On the wrong side of the horse.
I see rodeo queen written all over this gal.
This is at Waterton National Park.
It is amazingly beautiful there if you are looking for a vacation adventure.
There was a sign that said
Stay Away from Bears.
Stay Away from Bears.
phoooey...sign, schmine.
ok, so it's not a real bear.
We are very creative.
I heart my family.
I heart my family.
Red Rock Canyon
It is so fun to hike around there
and the water is COLD
Ahhhhhhh
The gals wanted to go on a canoe ride, or the water paddle boats
I put a nix-nay on that
Grandma isn't looking to have a stroke today, with all that exerted effort, rowing and paddling.
Can't come visit me without going on a hike
OK, so I did consent to walking and heavy breathing.
I LOVE this mountain
It is called Old Chief
it is actually in Montana....that is how close my folks live to the boarder
FYI....I have climbed the back side of this mountain and stood on the very top
which is only about 5 feet across.
another story for another post
I really like this photo of Grace-Lace
Hay ----how are ya
ok that was cheesy.
Mr Gorgeous was excited to take them on a Wagon Ride.
Roll'en, Roll'en Roll'en......Rawhide.
So there you have it
another Summer packed full of memories
I heard this saying once,
if you don't know where you came from, how will you know where you are going.
Roots are important
Families are Forever.
Closing the gate for now
Ya'll come back now, ya hear.

Awww sister #6. Are you all done crying? I know it's hard to say goodbye to your family, let alone summer. It seems like you never really had a summer in your parts ; (
What great pics of the girls. That sky is soooo blue and ok I have to ask, where were these all taken? I think you said your mom and dad's, but then I see your riding horses. I'm confused, sorry Wen.
Now remember what I said about that sweet little cabin of yours... dress her up perty perty ok?
Love you
Love me

P.S. I'm doing my post on Bolt's Castle. For some reason I'm not motivated today, but now it's time to watch a movie with Randy. Went to town and shopped with Ran today. What a treat that was. He goes to HomeSense and buys cookware, and I go to Winner's and buy cute stuff. He cooked again tonight. A glazed pork loin. I got some fresh coloured carrots and fresh potatoes YUMMY.
Ok gotta go.
So really now. Do we have to wait till winter before you post again since this is your last summer post????
xoxoxoxo
Beautiful. Beautiful life. Beautiful family. And I was always terrified of my grandmother's root cellar, too.
Wow mom we had the best time. thank you for all you do!!!
Those pictures are lovely.
No they are gorgeous!
How fun to be able to have the girls come and stay for awhile! What a treat for them.
I love the streams and the clean fresh air. I wouldn't love the sand in the crotch though.
You took the girls country dancin'?
You rock as a granma.
I'm not thinking the marshmellow face looks like a lot of fun.
I'm not doing that when I move in ya know.
(you didn't know?)
Well, my love I loved the pictures. Thanks for sharing them.
My darling Wendy....what can I say.
I want to cry when I see you here. Look at those darling children, muddy, frog-lovin' little wonders, and full of promise. THE HORSES!!! I am passionate about them, and that light-colored horse is FABULOUS! I have a thing for WHITE/light horses. And the little cabin, the mountains, the lake. Just knowing what I know of your courage, humor (oh how I love it) and your outlook, these photos radiate a woman's love for her family that can only be understood through the past joys and pains, the present moments of wonder, and the future results of the LOVE you put into these children. WONDER, BEAUTY and NATURE is found here, and I love it so. THANK YOU for coming to visit me dearest. Have a MEMORABLE WEEKEND and I will be BACK!!!! Anita
Man, I remember playing in the creek next to our house back when I was a kid...man, I miss those days.
I hope you loved/are loving your last few moments of summer.
Beautiful country, gorgeous girls, lovely visit! Memories!
That is the cutest little cabin. Almost as cute as your granddaughters. What a fun trip and what a fun grandma you are!
what a fabulous backdrop for your beautiful daughter & minis! that's a big horse for such a little girl, but she seems to be handling herself just fine!
i'm glad you were able to have such a great time with them & take so many gorgeous pictures to remember it all.
Aww, looks like you had a fantastic time. Those photos are really wonderful! I was a little confused too, where you were....is that little cabin at your place or your Mom and Dad's? All looks great never-the-less! It's always hard after the company leaves isn't it? Cathy
I don't know how to comfort you after that ride! What a sweet memorable trip for sure. To have them leave and for summer to be over is more then one gal should have to bear. I guess you'll have to don your traevelin' duds and head south now!
I wish the rest of the year was as easy living as summer.
I'm so glad they were able to come and visit you in your neck of the woods!
Can I come stay in the cabin? So cute...and appears you had a good ole time! Emma and her girls are beautiful...and duh, you too! I'm sad summer is coming to an end. Maybe we can take really cute winter/snow pictures to make us feel better?!?!
There's a trip those cute grandgirls won't soon forget! What a fun outing for all of you! I love the picture of you sitting on the dock with your granddaughter. You're bee-u-tiful!
They are so gorgeous, I know I've said it before but Emma is so beautiful! She must take after you! I'm so glad they got to come up and have adventures with you, its so beautiful up there, I'm not that far from Canada can I come visit you and stay in your cabin?! :D

What a fun time! How lucky are those girls to have such a fun grandma to visit and so many great things to do. That mountain looks scary---you couldn't pay me enough to climb to the top of it!
it's beautiful there where you live.
I know how important family is to you...so happy you got in that personal visit with all the fun and love!
